Artist Biography:
Anna Galea B.A., M.A. (University of Malta) is an award-winning artist based between Malta and Rome, renowned for her large-scale still life paintings and abstractions. Exhibiting internationally across Europe, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East, her work reflects both technical mastery and expressive depth. While she works in oils and mixed media, she is especially known for her bold, large scale watercolours. A featured artist at International Watercolour Society conventions worldwide, she was selected for the Biennale of Florence in 2023. Her work is widely published and held in private and institutional collections, including museums, palaces, and corporate spaces.

My art is inspired by nature and a sort of escapism from the horrors of war and other tragic situations - a tribute to our wonderful world of nature.
I zoom into ordinary mundane subjects/scenes and dramatize them, showing there's beauty in everyday things that we tend to take for granted. I find my process sometimes ventures into the world of abstractions.
I cannot but also portray my sadness at the way some choose short-term gain over the common good, with disastrous effects on our earth's Eco-systems and natural beauty. My painting RIFTS portrays massive sections of glaciers becoming disengaged from polar masses due to global warming. Red highlights this danger. My painting also hints at prevailing POLITICAL rifts.
