“My thoughts, my butterflies”
80cm x 80cm
Acrylic on Canvas
This artwork explores the complexity of women’s mental health through the metaphor of butterflies in motion. Swarming around the figure’s head, the butterflies represent the endless flow of thoughts, emotions, worries, memories, and hopes that occupy the mind each day. Varying in size, shape, and tone, they embody the shifting nature of mental and emotional experiences — some light and gentle, others darker and overwhelming.
Although chaotic, the butterflies are also delicate and transient. Their movement reflects the impermanence of thought and emotion, reminding us that even the heaviest feelings are temporary and will eventually fade. Through this visual language, the piece invites viewers to reflect on the invisible weight many women carry internally while encouraging compassion, softness, and acceptance toward oneself.
At its heart, the work is a meditation on vulnerability, resilience, and the quiet reassurance that all things shall pass.
